Foot Care

Many seniors will develop foot-related issues as they age. These foot problems, which can lead to a change in mobility, put seniors at risk of further injury, as well as a hindrance to their independence and overall well-being.

Seniors can take some simple steps at home to proactively take care of their feet including:

  • Checking their feet daily for cuts, bruises, sores, infected toenails, and swelling

  • Washing their feet daily with warm water

  • Not allowing their feet to soak for more than 10 minutes

  • Moisturizing their feet to keep your skin soft

  • Wearing comfortable socks and shoes

  • Being active every day (when possible)

  • Taking care of their toenails

At House Calls, our foot care nurses have extensive experience working with seniors, specifically those with diabetes, arthritis, and circulatory diseases. Our foot care nurses perform medical-grade foot care, focusing on foot health and educating clients on proper foot care. Foot care can be done in the comfort of your own home, or in our House Calls salon.
